Ghana Football Association Communications Director Henry Asante Twum has reiterated the GFA’s unwavering support for midfielder Thomas Partey amid ongoing attention surrounding the player ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The Former Arsenal midfielder remains a key member of Ghana’s squad and is expected to play a crucial role for the Black Stars during the tournament in North America.
Speaking to 3Sports, Asante Twum revealed that the GFA has stood by Partey throughout the period of scrutiny and remains confident in the information provided by the player and his legal representatives.
“We have absolute confidence in what our player has told us. We have supported him right from the very beginning,” he stated.
The GFA spokesperson added that the association’s priority is ensuring the team remains united and focused on achieving success at the World Cup.
“Thomas is one of our key players. We believe in him. We strongly trust him. We know that he will give us a good job on the field,” Asante Twum added.
With the tournament approaching, Ghana will be relying on Partey’s experience and leadership as they prepare for challenging group-stage fixtures against Panama, England and Croatia.
