Ivory Coast head coach Herve Renard is set to announce his squad for the upcoming 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers on Wednesday, September 16.
The French tactician, who returned to the helm of the Elephants last August, will unveil the players he has selected for the opening two matches of the qualifying campaign, as well as the international friendly against Cameroon.
Ivory Coast have been drawn in Group C alongside Ghana and Somalia, setting up a highly anticipated opening encounter against the Black Stars on September 24. The clash in Abidjan will see the two West African rivals begin their respective journeys towards the 2027 AFCON.
Following the meeting with Ghana, the Elephants will travel to Somalia for their second Group C fixture on September 29. The tight schedule will leave Renard and his technical team with limited time to prepare the squad for the trip to East Africa.
Ivory Coast will then face Cameroon in an international friendly on October 3, giving Renard another opportunity to assess his players and make further adjustments to his squad.
The September 16 squad announcement is therefore expected to provide an early indication of Renard’s plans for the qualifying campaign, with particular attention on the players selected to face Ghana in what promises to be a fiercely contested West African encounter.
