Former Ghana international Nii Odartey Lamptey has thrown his full support behind Otto Addo, expressing confidence in the Black Stars’ chances at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Despite criticism following Ghana’s failure to qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations, Lamptey believes the current technical team has what it takes to deliver on the global stage.
“I have absolute trust in Otto Addo and his technical team to deliver for Ghana at the 2026 World Cup,” he said in an interview.
Addo guided the Ghana national football team to qualification for the Mundial after an impressive run in the qualifiers, finishing top of their group without defeat.
Ghana face a tough challenge in Group L, where they will come up against Panama national football team, England national football team, and Croatia national football team.
The Black Stars will open their campaign against Panama on June 17, before taking on England on June 23 and wrapping up the group stage against Croatia on June 27.
Meanwhile, the team is currently in Vienna preparing for upcoming international friendlies against Austria national football team and Germany national football team as part of their build-up to the tournament.
