“In football, you don’t need to underrate your opponent,” – Laryea Kingston

Head coach of Ghana’s U-17 team, Laryea Kingston, has highlighted the importance his team not underestimating their opponent, Benin in their upcoming final Group A match tonight at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium at 6:00 pm Local Time.

After an annihilating 5-1 victory over the Ivory Coast in their opening game, the Black Starlets are focused on securing their place in the semi finals of this tournament.

The former Black Stars winger has assured fans that, despite being favorites to win this game, the team will approach the match with caution and respect for their opponents.

“In football, you don’t need to underrate your opponent,” Kingston told the Ghana FA website.

“We’re favourites and we know that, but that will not make us complacent. We have everything to play for because all that Ghanaians are expecting from us is qualification to the  U17 AFCON.

“We’ll respect our opponents but keep to our principles,” he added.
