“It Will Be a Dream Come True” – Prince Osei Owusu Targets World Cup Spot with Ghana

Ghana forward Prince Osei Owusu has revealed his ambition to represent the Black Stars at a major international tournament, describing the opportunity as a lifelong dream.

The CF Montreal captain earned his first senior call-up for Ghana during the Kirin Cup tournament in November last year and is now hoping to strengthen his place in the national team setup.

With international friendlies against Germany and Austria scheduled later this month, the matches are expected to play a key role in head coach Otto Addo’s plans as he assesses his squad ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup in North America.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with GhanaSoccerNet.Com, Owusu admitted that playing for Ghana on a global stage would be a special milestone in his career.

“It will be a dream come true for me and for every player. If you can represent your country and your roots, it means everything,” he said.

The 29-year-old striker is determined to impress during the upcoming international window as he pushes for a place in the final squad.

“I will just keep doing good performances. I will try to help the team and also CF Montreal and hopefully get the honour of a call-up,” he added.

Owusu enjoyed an impressive campaign last season in Major League Soccer, finishing as CF Montreal’s top scorer with 13 goals. He has already opened his account this season after scoring in Sunday’s emphatic victory over New York Red Bulls.
