Black Stars Legend, Asamoah Gyan, has express his pleasure of becoming the running mate to Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in Ghana’s upcoming December general elections if the opportunity presents itself.
In his recent interview with Onua TV, the 38-year-old football icon stated that he would consider the opportunity as an honour and wouldn’t decline it for any reason.
“Honour is something everybody likes. I won’t reject it, but I know that’s big,” the former Al Ain forward said.
Gyan currently serves as the chairman of the Sports Sub-Committee of the Vice President’s Manifesto Committee.
His involvement in this capacity underscores his commitment to contributing to the formulation of strategic sports policies aimed at advancing Ghana’s sports sector under the potential presidency of Dr Bawumia.
Gyan is the Africa’s top goal scorer in the history of the FIFA World Cup with six goals and a total of 51 for Ghana in 109 appearance, adds more weight to his credentials and the best to do the job assigned to him by Dr Bawumia and his campaign manifesto team.
