“I’ve Got a Lot of Faith in Brandon” — Frank Lampard Backs Brandon Thomas-Asante

Frank Lampard has praised the impact of Brandon Thomas-Asante after the Ghanaian striker returned to scoring form in Coventry City’s commanding 3–0 victory over Preston North End in the EFL Championship.

Thomas-Asante played a key role in the win, helping the Sky Blues maintain their strong position at the top of the league standings, where they currently hold a six-point advantage over Middlesbrough FC.

The Ghana international enjoyed a promising start to the 2025/26 season but saw his progress interrupted by injury and a subsequent three-match suspension.

After the match, Lampard expressed confidence in the striker and believes the latest goal could help him regain his best form.

“That’s what he gave us right early in the season. He had the injury and then the suspension, so it’s been a bit broken for him, but I’ve got a lot of faith and love for Brandon working with him every day,” Lampard said.

The Coventry boss also pointed to the striker’s attributes, highlighting his pace, strength and pressing ability as qualities that make him a key component of the team’s attacking approach.

Following his latest goal, Thomas-Asante has now recorded 11 goals and four assists in 25 Championship appearances during the current campaign.
