Joachim Löw Denies Contact with Ghana FA Over Black Stars Job

Joachim Löw has firmly dismissed reports linking him with the vacant Ghana Football Association coaching job, stating that he has had no contact with the West African nation.

Speculation had emerged that the former Germany head coach was in advanced talks with the GFA to take over the Ghana national team following the departure of Otto Addo.

Addo was relieved of his duties after Ghana suffered back-to-back defeats during the recent international window, including a heavy loss to Austria and a narrow defeat to Germany.

However, Löw has now moved quickly to shut down the rumours, making it clear that no approach has been made.

“I have had no contact with the Ghana Football Association. The reports are not true,” he told Sky Sports.

The denial casts doubt over earlier claims that the GFA was close to appointing a high-profile coach to lead the team ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

GFA President Kurt Okraku had recently indicated that the association was working to secure a top-level manager following Ghana’s defeat to Germany in Stuttgart.

Löw, who famously led Germany national team to World Cup glory in 2014, is regarded as one of the most accomplished managers in international football, making him a high-profile candidate for any national team role.

Meanwhile, the GFA is expected to continue its search for a new head coach, with the Black Stars facing a tight schedule ahead of the World Cup, where they have been drawn alongside England, Croatia, and Panama.
