Ghana forward, Jordan Ayew scored late on Thursday night to seal a hard-fought 2-1 victory for the Black Stars over the Eagles of Mali.
The two countries locked horns today in Round 3 of the qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
In a game that both national teams started slowly, it took a while for Mali to take control to threaten the Ghana goal.
Subsequently, the Black Stars also came in strongly and could have scored before the break.
However, it was Mali who scored against the run of play through Kamory Doumbia in the 45th minute to take a narrow lead into the break.
In the second half, Ghana started strongly and caught the Mali Eagles off guard. Pressure from the Black Stars paid off in the 58th minute when the visitors scored to restore parity.

With the scoreline square, both and Mali opened up the play in a bid to find the second goal to secure all three points.
At the crucial moment of the game, the Black Stars lads applied put much effort with pressure from Fatawu who managed to get the ball to Jordan Ayew complete the come back and secure a dramatic victory away from home.
Black Stars will host Central African Republic on Monday, June 10 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.
