Konlan Wins Golden Glove as Black Queens Shine at 2026 Pink Ladies Cup

Cynthia Findib Konlan has been honoured with the Best Goalkeeper award at the 2026 Pink Ladies Cup after delivering a commanding performance in the tournament staged among four nations.

The Ghana women’s national football team shot-stopper was presented with the Golden Glove trophy by organizers at the squad’s hotel in Sharjah.

The Black Queens goalkeeper was almost unbeatable throughout the competition, finishing the campaign without conceding a goal. She recorded clean sheets in both of Ghana’s emphatic 4-0 victories over Hong Kong and Russia, demonstrating remarkable concentration and authority between the posts.

Konlan’s awareness inside the penalty area, combined with timely saves and strong communication with her defenders, ensured that the Ghanaian side maintained a perfect defensive record during the tournament. Her consistency played a key role in the team’s success as they went on to lift the friendly championship.

The accolade adds to an already growing reputation for the goalkeeper, who was also shortlisted for the prestigious FIFA FIFPRO Women’s World 11 following her outstanding performances in the previous year.

At club level, Konlan represents FC Samartex Ladies, where she has continued to showcase the same level of reliability that has made her one of Africa’s most respected goalkeepers.

Her latest individual honour comes alongside teammate Doris Boaduwaa’s Golden Boot triumph, completing a successful tournament outing for the Black Queens as they continue preparations for upcoming international competitions.
