Kotoko Aim to Bounce Back Against Young Apostles

Ghana Premier League side Asante Kotoko will be hoping to return to winning ways when they face Young Apostles FC at the Wenchi Sports Stadium on Sunday.

The Porcupine Warriors are still recovering from their recent Super Clash defeat to Hearts of Oak, a result that extended their losing run to three matches following setbacks against Aduana Stars and Heart of Lions.

Despite the disappointing spell, Kotoko remain in contention for a strong league finish, sitting fifth on the table with 35 points after 22 games. The team has scored 28 goals and conceded 15, reflecting a relatively solid balance between attack and defence. They will be hoping to rediscover their rhythm in front of goal and revive confidence among supporters.

Young Apostles, however, will be determined to protect their home record as they fight to stay clear of the relegation zone. The Wenchi-based side are just above the drop zone on goal difference, having recorded six wins, eight draws and eight losses.

Their standout performance this season has been their unbeaten home run of nine consecutive matches, a record they will aim to preserve against the former league champions.

The hosts have scored 21 goals and conceded 25 in 22 matches, highlighting their generally cautious but organised playing style.

The match is scheduled to kick off at 3:00pm on Sunday at the Wenchi Sports Stadium. Both sides will be chasing important points for very different objectives.
