The 5th edition of the Kovacic Talent Watch Tournament is set to take place from September 8 to October 4, 2026, at the Dogo Moro Mini Stadium in Asawase, Kumasi, with kick-off scheduled at 4:00 PM.
The tournament, organised by Mohammed Saeed Kovacic, a multimedia affiliate journalist with Akoma FM in Kumasi, is aimed at discovering, nurturing and showcasing the next generation of football talents.
According to Saeed, the initiative goes beyond football competition, with a vision to use football and the power of media to create opportunities for young players and provide them with a platform to be seen, developed and remembered.
“From the local pitches to the biggest stages, we believe every talented player deserves a chance to be discovered,” Saeed said.
The 2026 edition is being held under the leadership of Alhaji Shaibu Sulaiman MB, with Alhaji Abdul Aziz, a Zongo Football Stakeholder, and John Kwasi Adu, CEO of Bibiani Goldstars, also supporting the initiative.
The tournament will also have the backing of Ghana Football Association President Kurt Okraku, who is featured on the official promotional material.
Football enthusiasts, scouts and stakeholders are expected to turn up at the Dogo Moro Mini Stadium to support and identify some of the promising young talents on display.
