Dreams FC booked their place in the semi-finals of the MTN FA Cup after defeating Heart of Lions FC 4-2 on penalties following a dramatic quarter-final encounter on Sunday at the Cape Coast Stadium.
Heart of Lions took the lead in the 32nd minute through Seedorf Asante, giving the Kpando-based side the advantage as they looked set to progress.
However, Dreams FC produced a late response deep into stoppage time when Seidu Suraj scored in the 92nd minute. The equaliser came from a well-worked set-piece routine that forced the match into extra time.
Neither side was able to find a breakthrough during the additional 30 minutes, sending the contest into a tense penalty shootout.
Dreams FC held their composure from the spot to secure a 4-2 victory, sealing their passage into the last four of the competition.
The Believers will now wait to face the winner of the quarter-final clash between Attram De Visser Soccer Academy and Medeama SC in the semi-finals as they continue their push for FA Cup glory.
