Maxwell Konadu appointed Ghana U23 national team coach

The Ghana Football Association has appointed Maxwell Konadu as the Head Coach of the Ghana National Male U23 team, the Black Meteors.

Konadu, currently serving as the Head Coach of Premier League side Nsoatreman FC, brings a wealth of experience to the role.

His appointment is part of the GFA’s strategy to nurture players through a structured pathway for high performance at both youth and senior levels.

Konadu’s extensive coaching background includes heading Ghana’s U17, U20 and Black Galaxies national teams, as well as two stints as Assistant Coach for the Black Stars.

Konadu’s new position is significant due to the close connection between the Black Meteors and the senior national team, the Black Stars.

He is tasked with developing promising players within Ghana’s football system and facilitating their transition to the senior level.

Konadu will be supported by Abdullai Gazale, a former Asante Kotoko Coach, as well as other experienced staff including Ben Owu, Amankwah Mireku, Eric Totime, and Henry Bart-Plange, among others.

Together, Konadu and his team aim to build a competitive squad capable of excelling in international competitions and providing strong player options for the Black Stars.
