“My Time Will Come” – Paul Reverson Remains Positive After World Cup Omission

Young Ghanaian goalkeeper Paul Reverson has admitted he was disappointed to miss out on Ghana’s final squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup but believes the opportunity arrived slightly too early in his career.

The 20-year-old Ajax prospect was among the players invited to train with the Black Stars during their preparations for the tournament but was ultimately left out of head coach Carlos Queiroz’s final 26-man squad.

Speaking about the decision, Reverson said he would have loved to be part of Ghana’s World Cup adventure but understands there is still time for him to establish himself at the highest level.

“I wish I was in the Black Stars team for the World Cup but now is not the time. I’m still very young,” he said.

Despite the setback, the goalkeeper remains one of the most highly-rated young talents within the national team setup. Born in Amsterdam, Reverson chose to represent Ghana over the Netherlands and has steadily risen through the ranks since making his debut for the Black Satellites in 2025.

His rapid development at Ajax has also caught the attention of Ghana’s technical team. After impressing for Jong Ajax in the Dutch Eerste Divisie, he earned a maiden senior call-up for Ghana’s international friendly against Mexico earlier this year.

Although he will not be travelling to the World Cup, Reverson remains determined to continue his development and establish himself as a future Black Stars goalkeeper.
