The 2025/26 CAF Champions League group stage has officially come to an end. The competition featured four groups—Groups A to D—with four teams in each group, making a total of 16 teams.
After six rounds of matches, eight teams have secured qualification to the quarter-finals of the tournament.
Group A consisted of defending champions Pyramids FC, RS Berkane, Power Dynamos, and Rivers United.
Pyramids FC topped the group with an impressive 16 points from six matches, clearly signaling their intent to defend the title.
RS Berkane finished second with 10 points to qualify for the quarter-finals. Power Dynamos ended their campaign with 7 points, while Rivers United were eliminated after managing just one point.
Group B, widely described as the “group of death,” featured record 12-time champions Al Ahly, AS FAR, Young Africans, and JS Kabylie.
Al Ahly once again showed their pedigree by finishing top with 10 points, followed closely by AS FAR with 9 points. Young Africans narrowly missed out on qualification with 8 points, while JS Kabylie struggled and finished bottom with just 3 points.
Group C included Al Hilal, Mamelodi Sundowns, MC Alger, and Saint-Éloi Lupopo.
Al Hilal dominated the group from Matchday 1 and finished top with 11 points. Mamelodi Sundowns, popularly known as the Brazilians, secured second place with 9 points, extending their impressive run to an eighth consecutive CAF Champions League quarter-final appearance. MC Alger (7 points) and Saint-Éloi Lupopo (5 points) were eliminated.

Group D saw Stade Malien deliver a surprise performance by winning the group with 11 points, emerging as the only West African side to reach the quarter-finals. Espérance finished second with 9 points, while Petro de Luanda placed third with 6 points. Simba SC exited the competition with 5 points.
This season’s CAF Champions League continues to be dominated by North African teams, who account for six of the eight quarter-finalists. Stade Malien represent West Africa, while Mamelodi Sundowns fly the flag for Southern Africa.
