Former Black Stars coach James Kwesi Appiah has stated clearly that money will not influence his decision of ever coaching the Stars if he is offered the chance to return as head coach.
The 64 year-old coach, who previously has managed the Black Stars in two separate periods, is currently the head coach of the Sudanese national team, where he recently secured qualification for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco at Ghana’s expense.
Despite the potential for a lucrative offer, Appiah stressed that not even 1 million dollars a week will make him come back to coach the stars again.
“Is it the $1m that will be given to me every week? What will that do? At my age, I don’t value money; I do things from my heart,” he said during an interview on the BKB show.
“I do not need to worry myself with anything,” Appiah added, making it clear that his commitment to coaching comes from a place of heart rather than financial motivation” he added.
