Parliament Ready to Support GFA Through Legislation — Hon. Mahama Ayariga

Majority Leader, Hon. Mahama Ayariga, has pledged Parliament’s readiness to support the Ghana Football Association (GFA) with legislation if required, as the GFA continues to introduce bold and transformative initiatives aimed at revolutionising Ghanaian football.

Speaking at the official launch of the GFA’s partnership with Adesa Productions Limited, Hon. Ayariga described the collaboration as one of the most forward-thinking ventures seen in Ghana’s football space in decades.

“My role here is simple; to bring a message of solidarity from parliament across the aisle and from all those who believe in the transformative power of football,” he said during his address at the launch event.

He praised the GFA’s commitment to innovation and self-sufficiency in their approach to developing the game across all levels, emphasising the long-term potential of the new partnership.

“The initiative being launched here is one of the most innovative and promising we have seen in decades. And I commend the GFA for that,” Hon. Ayariga noted.

The GFA-APL partnership is expected to significantly improve the visibility and commercial appeal of Ghana’s football ecosystem through enhanced content production and distribution. As the sport continues to evolve, Hon. Ayariga assured the football governing body that the legislative arm of government remains firmly behind such progressive moves.

“Let me also note that this is a model that supports sustainability, not dependency. So let me assure you that Parliament is with you. We will not hesitate to legislate to support you if you need us,” he added.

The GFA has described the partnership with Adesa Productions Limited as a crucial step toward rebranding Ghana football and making it more attractive to investors, broadcasters, and fans both locally and internationally.
