Ransford Yeboah Königsdörffer is expected to be available for Hamburger SV when they face 1. FC Köln in Saturday’s Bundesliga clash.
The Ghanaian forward missed Tuesday’s training session, raising some concerns about his condition. However, head coach Merlin Polzin has played down any fears about the attacker’s fitness ahead of the weekend fixture.
According to the coach, Königsdörffer was not sidelined with a serious issue but was simply following a precautionary programme. Instead of taking part in the full training session, the striker worked indoors while receiving treatment from the club’s medical team.
Polzin indicated that the forward’s workload would gradually increase during the week, with the expectation that he would return to full team training without limitations.
The coach also reassured supporters that the situation should not affect the player’s availability for the upcoming match.
