Ghana forward Antoine Semenyo has taken the Premier League by storm after being voted Player of the Week for Matchday 26 following a sensational display for Manchester City in their emphatic 3–0 victory over Fulham at the Etihad Stadium.
The Black Stars attacker delivered a Man-of-the-Match performance, opening the scoring with a poacher’s finish after capitalising on defensive hesitation inside the box. Moments later, he turned provider, setting up Nico O’Reilly for City’s second before Erling Haaland sealed the dominant win.
At just 26, Semenyo’s explosive start since arriving in January has electrified supporters and pundits alike. His latest honour makes him the third City player to claim the weekly accolade this season, following triumphs by Erling Haaland earlier in the campaign and Jérémy Doku on Matchday 11.
Semenyo secured 39 percent of the vote to finish ahead of Virgil van Dijk, who polled 32 percent. Others nominated included Lukas Nmecha, Wolverhampton Wanderers goalkeeper José Sá, Malick Thiaw, and Jaidon Anthony of Burnley.
The former AFC Bournemouth star has wasted no time announcing himself on the biggest stage, netting five goals in just seven appearances for City and rapidly establishing himself as one of the league’s most talked-about performers.
