Sports Minister Kofi Adams Hails GFA-Adesa Partnership as a New Era for Ghana Football

Ghana’s Minister for Sports and Recreation, Hon. Kofi Adams, has lauded the landmark partnership between the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and Adesa Productions Limited (APL), describing it as a bold step towards building a sustainable and commercially viable football ecosystem in the country.

Speaking at the official launch of the partnership, Hon. Adams expressed confidence that the initiative marks a critical turning point in the administration and development of football in Ghana.

“Today’s event reflects vision, opportunity and collaboration. The very principles that guide my Ministry’s new approach to sports development,” he said.

He emphasised that the partnership represents more than a media strategy. “This is not only the unveiling of a new process but the beginning of a new era for football in our country,” the Minister declared.

Hon. Adams used the occasion to reinforce his commitment to transforming the sports sector by shifting away from heavy dependence on government support toward strategic engagement with the private sector.

“When I assumed this portfolio, I made a clear commitment that we must evolve beyond a government-dependent model of funding and begin to leverage on the strength of the private sector to grow our sporting institutions,” he noted.

The Minister believes that Ghana has what it takes to succeed in that regard. “As Minister for Sports and Recreation, I have always believed that Ghana possesses not only the talent or potential, but we have everything to transform sports into a sustainable and lucrative industry,” he affirmed.

The GFA-Adesa partnership is expected to revolutionise content creation and commercialisation for Ghanaian football, giving clubs and the league a stronger media presence while boosting revenue through broadcasting and sponsorships.
