In a remarkable display of leadership, Black Stars captain Andre Ayew showcased his scoring prowess once again, propelling Le Havre to a crucial victory over Strasbourg in Ligue 1 and lifting his team out of the relegation zone.
Ayew, the seasoned forward, delivered a decisive blow late in the game, securing a 3-1 home win for Le Havre and widening the gap between them and the relegation-threatened positions to three points.
Since his arrival at Le Havre in December last year, Ayew has made a significant impact, notching his fifth goal of the campaign for the club and proving instrumental in their bid for survival.
Ayew has scored 6 goals in all competitions for Le Harve since returning from the Africa Cup of Nations where he was denied enough playing time.
Midfielder Yassine Kechta set the tone with an early goal in the 24th minute, followed by a second strike after halftime to bolster Le Havre’s lead.
Although Strasbourg managed to claw one back through Frederic Guilbert with minutes remaining, Ayew sealed the victory with a late goal, securing all three points for his side and greatly enhancing their chances of avoiding relegation with just six games remaining in the season.
