Tema United FC have been crowned champions of the Greater Accra Regional Football Association (GA RFA) Division Two Zone 1 after a commanding 5-0 victory over Uncle T FC at the Tema Stadium on Saturday.
The emphatic win propelled the Harbour Boys to 68 points from 29 matches, boasting an impressive record of 22 wins, two draws and five defeats, with a league-leading 73 goals scored. Their nearest challengers, True Life FC, slipped further behind on Sunday when they were held to a 3-3 draw by Sunstars, mathematically sealing the title for Tema United with one fixture still remaining.
President of the club JoeSalam Abubakar lauded his players’ consistency throughout the campaign. “Securing the championship before the final matchday shows the belief and hard work of everyone at the club,” he said. “Now our focus shifts to finishing strongly and preparing for the promotional middle-league.”

Tema United wrap up their regular season next Sunday against Real Scandy at the Tema Community 4 Park. Although the result will not affect their top-spot status, the side is eager to maintain momentum heading into June’s GA RFA Division Two Promotional Middle League, where a place in Division One will be at stake.
Club president JoeSalam Abubakar also praised the squad and technical team: “This title is a reward for dedication both on and off the pitch. We will regroup quickly because the bigger objective is to gain promotion for our passionate supporters and the city of Tema.”
With silverware already secured and confidence high, Tema United now eye the ultimate prize—elevation to Ghana’s second-tier league.
