Ten-Man Vision FC Frustrate Kotoko in Thrilling Baba Yara Stalemate

Asante Kotoko were forced to settle for a share of the spoils after being held to a gripping 0-0 draw by a resilient 10-man Vision FC side in their Ghana Premier League week 24 fixture at the Baba Yara Stadium.

The hosts came flying out of the blocks, pressing with urgency and intensity, but their early aggression resulted in captain Samba O’Neil and teammate Patrick receiving bookings inside the opening 20 minutes. Despite dominating possession, Kotoko struggled to convert their bright start into a breakthrough.

Vision FC, though reduced to ten men, remained adventurous and nearly stunned the home crowd with swift counterattacks. Mohammed Camara was called into action midway through the first half, producing a sharp save before O’Neil intervened with a timely clearance to keep the game level.

Kotoko’s best opportunity before the interval fell to Albert Amoah, who latched onto a precise through ball and cleverly chipped goalkeeper Godwin Ametefe, only to see his effort bounce off the crossbar. Moments later, Emmanuel Antwi attempted a curling strike that drifted narrowly wide, ensuring the first half ended without a goal.

The pattern continued after the restart. Amidu Acquah threatened from the flanks for the Porcupine Warriors, but his curling effort sailed over the bar. Camara once again proved decisive within a short spell, pulling off two crucial saves to deny the visitors and maintain parity.

In the end, neither side could find the cutting edge, and the contest finished goalless despite the end-to-end exchanges.

The result leaves Kotoko fourth on the table with 39 points as they prepare to host Karela United in their next outing. Vision FC, meanwhile, sit ninth with 31 points and will turn their attention to a home clash against Berekum Chelsea.
