“The investment I put in myself is all because I want to change something in Ghana football” – Former Black Starlets coach Laryea Kingston

Former Ghana Winger and Black Starlets coach, Laryea Kingston has opened up about his decision to invest in himself as a football coach.

The former Hearts of Oak winger revealed this after a shocking decision to resign as head coach of the Black Starlets right after his team’s semifinal loss to Burkina Faso on Saturday.

The former Hearts of Oak midfielder talked about his decision to leave his post as the Black Starlets role before the tournament started regardless of the outcome and added that,

“I gave my all as a player for this country but in the end, I wasn’t happy as a player. I have focused more on my coaching career and educated myself well to make sure I come back and change the narrative” he said in an interview with the media.

“The investment I put in myself is all because I want to change something in Ghana football,” he added.

Black Starlets face U17 defending Champions Nigeria after they lost 1-0 to Ivory Coast on Saturday in the 3rd and 4th place game on Tuesday with assistant coach, Jaco Narteh expected to take charge of the game.
