UEFA U16 International Tournament: Ghana record massive win over Serbia after Russia set back

Ghana’s U16 team demonstrated their prowess on the field with an impressive 5-1 win against Serbia in the UEFA U16 Development Tournament after an opening day setback to Russia on Wednesday.

The match was filled with excitement as Ghana took control early, scoring three goals in the first half.

Abdulai Nortey started the scoring for Ghana in the 15th minute, setting the tone for their attacking play.

Benjamin Hanson extended the lead just before halftime with a penalty, and David Koranteng added another goal right before the break.

In the second half, Ghana maintained their pressure, with Ebenezer Anane and Benjamin Tsevanyo both finding the net to further increase the lead. Despite Serbia managing to score one goal, Ghana’s dominance remained evident.

This win serves as redemption for Ghana after their earlier loss to Russia. With one more match against Kazakhstan remaining, they are focused on preparing for the upcoming WAFU Zone B U17 Tournament in Accra next month.

The UEFA U16 International Development Tournament is an essential platform for Ghana to refine their skills and tactics ahead of the prestigious U17 WAFU competition.

Ghana’s impressive performance against Serbia demonstrates their determination and ambition on the international stage, highlighting the talent and potential of their young footballers.
