FC Samartex 1996 will be hoping to rediscover their winning touch when they host Dreams FC at the Nsenkyire Sports Arena on Saturday in a Ghana Premier League encounter.
The Samreboi-based club head into the match looking to end a difficult spell that has seen them go five games without a victory in all competitions. Their latest disappointment came last week when they suffered a narrow 1-0 loss to Hohoe United, a result that further dented their recent momentum.
Despite that run, the Timber Giants remain in a respectable position in the league standings. Samartex currently sit sixth on the table and could move into the top four with a win this weekend, depending on how results unfold in other fixtures.
One of their biggest strengths this season has been their performances at home. Samartex are yet to taste defeat at the Nsenkyire Sports Arena, where they have recorded eight wins and four draws from twelve league matches, making their home ground one of the toughest venues for visiting teams.
Dreams FC, on the other hand, travel to Samreboi with some encouraging form of their own. The Still Believe side have managed to lose only once in their last nine league outings, showing signs of improvement after a difficult start to the campaign.
Even so, their league position keeps them under pressure. Dreams remain involved in the fight to avoid relegation and are currently just three points clear of the drop zone.
Their away form will also be a concern heading into the contest.
Dreams have yet to secure a victory on the road this season, having played eleven away matches without a win, a record they will hope to change against a Samartex side that has been formidable at home.
