“We approach every match to win” – Ralf Rangnick sets tone ahead of Austria national football team clash with Ghana

Ralf Rangnick has stressed the importance of a winning mentality as the Austria national football team prepare to face Ghana national football team in an international friendly.

The match, scheduled for March 27 at the Ernst Happel Stadium, forms part of both teams’ preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Despite the fixture being a friendly, Rangnick insists the objective remains unchanged.

“We approach every match with the goal of winning. That’s why we play these games. We want to keep building our confidence,” he said.

The Austrian coach is expected to rotate his squad while maintaining tactical discipline, using the game to assess player performance and test different systems.

Rangnick also acknowledged Ghana’s recent progress, noting that the Black Stars have developed into a more cohesive and dangerous side capable of punishing mistakes.

For Otto Addo and his squad, the encounter offers another valuable opportunity to measure themselves against European opposition as they continue building towards major competitions.

With both teams focused on long-term goals, Friday’s clash in Vienna is expected to be a competitive and insightful test for both sides.
