We had problems in the first half controlling the ball – Otto Addo

Ghana coach, Otto Addo has accepted responsibility for his side’s first half poor first-half performance against Central African Republic (CAR).

Ghana played with CAR in the matchday four games of the 2026 World Cup qualifying games at the Baba Yara Stadium on Monday night.

Despite a 4-3 win, Otto Addo said that his players struggled to control the ball in the first half due to the nature of the pitch but insisted the team deserved their hard-fought win.

“We had problems in the first half controlling the ball and finding solutions upfront. I take the blame,” Addo said after the game.

“Maybe I wanted us to do too much though we had few days of training” he continue.

“I adjusted in the second half and deserved to win,” he added.

Ghana are currently leading Group I after four games with nine points, three points ahead of Madagascar and Comoros who have a game to play on Tuesday.
