WENCHI YOUNG APOSTLES FC HOSTS ACCRA HEARTS OF OAK ON SUNDAY

I’ve seen Hearts of Oak! I’ve known Hearts of Oak!! I’ve felt Heatts of Oak!!! Of the Hearts of Oak I’ve seen, known and felt, this is the weakest generation of all. The Hearts of Oak of early nineties and the Hearts of Oak two decades ago sent shivers down the spines of all opponents including their arch rivals, Asante Kotoko.

The Hearts of Oak of those days won the Ghana Premier League titles long before the seasons ended. I mean they were runaway winners of the league in advance. There was a season they could afford not-to-honour a league away to now defunct Dawu Youngsters and still won the league. They in one season in Ghana football went the whole league season undefeated. That was quite a novelty and commendable. Teams had to negotiate in their minds relative to the number of goals the Phobians will score against them.

But the Hearts of Oak of today is nothing but a pale shadow of themselves relative to what they’ve been known to subject their opponents to. The Hearts Oak of today and not in the too distant past had to know their fate as to whether they will continue the following season in the Ghana Premier League on the last day of the season. Last two seasons it was in Berekum in the Bono Region against Chelsea that managed to maintain their premiership status and last season, it was in Bechem in the Ahafo Region against Bechem United that they knew they will continue their stay in the Ghana Premier. This is not a team to be feared but obviously deserves some great deal of respect.

We in Young Apostles FC are not oblivious of these facts and will naturally use them to our advantage when the Phobians touch base with us at the Nana Abrefa Nketiah VII Stadium in Wenchi. As a young team in the Ghana Premier League, we’ve able to hold our own against Nations FC that fared so well in the league last season, Asante Kotoko had to salvage a point against Young Apostles in their “own” Obuasi kind courtesy a poor pitch that resulted in the wicked bouncing of a harmless ball to earn a-one-all outcome. Then came another derby in the early stages of the league against Dormaa Aduana FC which we turned the scales in our favour from losing position in the dying embers of the game. This is the Young Apostles that is waiting to wreak havoc on the modern day not-too-heavy Hearts of Oak.

I know Hearts of Oak has some antics, tricks, tactics and smart strategies in handling new teams. But I want to assure them that, those smart games wouldn’t work in Wenchi one bit. We’re wide awake and will definitely add them to our list of football results victims. They will definitely lose the game in Wenchi. Young Apostles will beat Hearts of Oak to set the tone for our greatness in the league. The team has an extremely super array of talents who on any can stand up to any premier opposition in the Ghanaian league. Now that we’re both pegged on five points, this Sunday will definitely see some real points difference between us which will tilt in our favour. Insha Allah, Hearts of Oak will fall on Sunday in Wenchi.

To the many Hearts of Oak supporters across the length and breadth of the country, I welcome them to the BUSIA TOWN OF WENCHI and I say to them, they will come to Wenchi, they will see Wenchi but INSHA ALLAH, INSHA ALLAH, INSHA ALLAH, ultimately they will definitely be conquered.
