Chairman of the MTN FA Cup Committee, Wilson Arthur, has announced the prize package awaiting the winners as the competition reaches the quarter-final stage.
The tournament returns this weekend with crucial matches scheduled at the Cape Coast Stadium and Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park, where the remaining teams will battle for places in the semi-finals.
Arthur revealed that the eventual champions will receive GH¢80,000 in prize money as well as a GH¢100,000 support fund to assist with preparations for continental football.
Speaking to Asempa FM, he explained that the winners will also benefit from a share of the gate proceeds from the final.
“The winner of the MTN FA Cup final will receive GH¢100,000 for Africa preparations, aside from the GH¢80,000 prize money and a share of the final gate proceeds,” Arthur said.
This weekend’s quarter-final fixtures will see several exciting matchups as clubs chase a place in the last four.
Aduana FC will take on Techiman Liberty FC on Saturday, while Nations FC face Berekum Chelsea FC on Sunday at the Cape Coast venue.
Elsewhere, Medeama SC will square off against Attram De Visser Soccer Academy, while Dreams FC battle Heart of Lions FC at Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park.
Beyond the domestic trophy, the competition carries added significance as the eventual winners will secure Ghana’s slot in the CAF Confederation Cup for the 2026/27 season. ⚽
