“Winning the League Is Now Very Difficult” — Prince Osei Reacts to Super Clash Defeat

Asante Kotoko suffered a painful home defeat to their bitter rivals, Hearts of Oak, on Sunday evening at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Matchday 22 of the Ghana Premier League.

Baba Adamu’s lone goal in the 14th minute proved decisive, handing the Phobians all three points in the highly anticipated Super Clash.

Speaking after the game, Kotoko head coach Prince Owusu shared his thoughts during the post-match press conference, admitting that the defeat has made their league title ambitions much more difficult. He explained that victory in the clash would have significantly boosted Kotoko’s chances, especially with league leaders Medeama also dropping points at home.

🗣️ “This defeat against Hearts of Oak makes winning the league very difficult,” he said.

The former Okwawu United manager further expressed confidence in his ability to lead the club until the end of the season, insisting that he is capable of guiding the team forward.

🗣️ “I am the right man to lead the club to the end of the season,” Prince Osei added.

The loss leaves Asante Kotoko in a difficult position, as they have dropped to 5th place on the league table with 35 points after 22 matches. They will next travel to Wenchi to face Young Apostles in their upcoming league fixture.
