Antoine Semenyo has expressed concern over the fitness of teammate Mohammed Kudus following his latest injury setback ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Speaking on the AllOutFootball Podcast, the Ghana national football team forward revealed that Kudus suffered a relapse while recovering from a quad injury that had already kept him out for several months.
“He relapsed during his comeback from his quad injury. It’s frustrating because he is a pivotal factor in the team for sure – we just have to see how it goes,” Semenyo said.
Kudus, who plays for Tottenham Hotspur, has endured an injury-disrupted season, managing three goals and six assists in 26 appearances across all competitions.
His potential absence would be a major blow for Ghana, given his influence in attack, especially as the team prepares for a difficult Group L alongside England national football team, Croatia national football team, and Panama national football team.
Despite the setback, Semenyo remains hopeful that Kudus could still recover in time for the tournament, which begins on June 11, with Ghana set to open their campaign against Panama on June 17 in Toronto.
