Panama Captain Sends Strong World Cup Warning to Rivals

Captain of the Panama national football team, Aníbal Godoy, has issued a confident warning ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, insisting his side are ready to compete with the very best.

Drawn in Group L alongside Ghana, England, and Croatia. Panama are widely viewed as underdogs.

However, Godoy believes their unity and tactical discipline make them dangerous opponents.

“We are a well-organised team. Good players come and go, but we remain a strong unit. We are prepared to compete and hopefully make history,” he said.

Panama will kick off their campaign against Ghana on June 17 in Toronto, a fixture that could set the tone for their tournament.
