Antoine Semenyo has received a nomination for the 2025/26 Premier League Player of the Season award after producing some of the finest performances of his career across spells with AFC Bournemouth and Manchester City.
The Black Stars attacker has enjoyed a superb campaign in England’s top flight, recording 16 goals and four assists in 35 league appearances to earn a place among the league’s standout performers.
Semenyo’s impact became even more significant after his January switch from Bournemouth to Manchester City, where his contributions strengthened the club’s title challenge during the second half of the season.
Before completing the move to the Etihad Stadium, the 25-year-old had already established himself as one of the Premier League’s most exciting attacking players thanks to his consistency and ability to trouble defenders in multiple positions.
Since arriving at City, Semenyo has settled quickly into Pep Guardiola’s system and delivered several influential displays for the reigning champions.
One of his standout moments came in February when he produced three goals and an assist in five league matches, a run of form that earned him the EA SPORTS Premier League Player of the Month award for the first time in his career.
A major factor behind his impressive season has been his tactical flexibility. Throughout the campaign, the Ghanaian international has operated effectively across the front line, featuring on either wing, through the middle as a striker and occasionally in midfield roles.
His energy, strength and adaptability have made him a valuable asset in Guardiola’s squad as City continue their pursuit of silverware.
Semenyo joins a competitive shortlist that includes Bruno Fernandes, Gabriel Magalhães, Morgan Gibbs-White, Erling Haaland, David Raya, Declan Rice and Igor Thiago for the prestigious honour.
The nomination represents another important achievement in Semenyo’s rise and further highlights his growing influence as one of Ghana’s leading footballers on the international stage.
