Interim Asante Kotoko coach Hamza Obeng has admitted the club endured a disappointing Ghana Premier League campaign following their final-day defeat to Swedru All Blacks.
The Porcupine Warriors suffered a 2-1 loss at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday, ending the season in eighth place after an inconsistent run throughout the campaign.
Speaking after the game, Obeng expressed frustration over the result and acknowledged that the team failed to give supporters the ending they had hoped for.
“What I will say is that the result is very bad. I think at least we should have gotten the result to make our fans happy. But all the same, it’s part of the game, so we move from there and concentrate on the next season,” he said.
Kotoko struggled for consistency during the season and eventually missed out on both the title race and a top-four finish.
Attention is now expected to shift towards rebuilding the squad ahead of next season as the club looks to bounce back from a frustrating campaign.
