Black Stars forward Antoine Semenyo has arrived in Wales to join Ghana’s preparations for Tuesday’s international friendly against Wales as the team continues its build-up to the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The Bournemouth attacker became the latest player to report to camp, increasing the number of players in the squad to 25 as head coach Carlos Queiroz intensifies preparations for the crucial warm-up fixture in Cardiff.
Semenyo touched down on Saturday evening and wasted little time settling into camp life, joining his teammates for activities at the team hotel before linking up with the squad for training.
His arrival further strengthens an already impressive Black Stars camp, which now boasts a blend of experienced internationals and emerging talents ahead of the World Cup in North America.
The goalkeeping department is made up of Benjamin Asare, Lawrence Ati-Zigi, Joseph Anang and Solomon Agbasi, all battling for places in Ghana’s final World Cup squad.
In defence, Baba Rahman, Gideon Mensah, Alidu Seidu, Abdul Mumin, Jerome Opoku, Jonas Adjetey and Marvin Senaya are continuing preparations under Queiroz and his technical team.
The midfield unit includes captain Thomas Partey, Elisha Owusu, Kwasi Sibo, Caleb Yirenkyi and Paul Reverson, while Jordan Ayew leads an attack packed with talent alongside Inaki Williams, Ernest Nuamah, Kamaldeen Sulemana, Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, Christopher Bonsu Baah, Brandon Thomas-Asante, Prince Kwabena Adu and the newly arrived Semenyo.
The Black Stars are expected to hold another training session at Dragon Park as they fine-tune preparations for the Wales clash, which serves as Ghana’s final major test before the FIFA World Cup.
The friendly will give Queiroz another opportunity to assess his squad before naming the final 26-man team for the tournament, where Ghana will face Panama, England and Croatia in Group L.
