Ghana head coach Carlos Queiroz has urged the Black Stars to recognize the influence they have on young football fans as they prepare for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The experienced manager told his players that representing Ghana goes beyond performances on the pitch, emphasizing that they serve as role models for the next generation.
“When kids in Ghana start to put on a shirt with your number, it’s a great responsibility,” Queiroz said during a motivational address to the squad.
The former Real Madrid coach encouraged the players to think about the impact they can have on aspiring footballers across the country and challenged them to uphold the values associated with the Black Stars jersey.
According to Queiroz, the current squad has a unique opportunity to add a new chapter to Ghana’s proud football history and inspire future generations through their performances at the World Cup.
The Black Stars are currently fine-tuning preparations ahead of the tournament, where they will face Panama, England and Croatia in Group L. Ghana will open their campaign against Panama on June 17 as they chase a place in the knockout stages.
