Vision FC Cruise Past Young Apostles to Claim Early Summit in GPL Opener

Vision FC laid down an emphatic early marker in the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League season, cruising to a comfortable 3-0 victory over Young Apostles at home on Saturday to temporarily capture top spot in the standings.

It took the hosts just four minutes to break the deadlock. Naziru Alhassan Nyenye made his mark early, firing home to hand Vision FC the dream start and immediately putting them in control of the tempo.

Despite efforts from Young Apostles to claw their way back into the contest, the home side remained firmly on the front foot. The sustained pressure finally paid off five minutes before the interval when Setsofia Aqetey got on the scoresheet in the 40th minute, doubling the advantage and leaving the visitors with a mountain to climb at half-time.

The second period followed a similar script as Vision FC maintained their tactical discipline. Though Alidu Labaran entered the referee’s notebook with a yellow card in the 55th minute, it did little to derail the hosts’ momentum.

Aqetey put the result beyond any doubt later in the half, netting his second of the afternoon to cap off a stellar individual performance and round out the 3-0 scoreline.

The comprehensive win lifts Vision FC to the summit of the table, though their stay at the top remains provisional ahead of Sunday’s remaining Matchday One fixtures.

Meanwhile, Young Apostles will look to dust themselves off and regroup after a difficult opening test on the road.
