Accra Hearts of Oak head coach Didi Dramani has emphasised the importance of tactical discipline and decision-making despite his side’s 1-0 victory over Nations FC in the Ghana Premier League.
Hearts secured all three points at the Dr Kwame Kyei Sports Complex thanks to an early goal from Mawuli Wayo, but the performance prompted a detailed assessment from the coach.
Dramani dismissed concerns about missed chances, insisting his focus lies on the finer details of his team’s play rather than goalscoring opportunities.
“No, I wasn’t angry about missed chances. That would suggest I don’t care, but I don’t speak about that,” he said. “I focus on the details, the small decisions, when to close space, when to step up, and when to keep pressure on the opponent.”
He further highlighted his tactical philosophy, stressing that Hearts operate as a system-based team focused on controlling space and possession.
“We are a ball and space-oriented team. I don’t like to see players trying to man-mark outside the box instead of dealing with the ball and the space,” he added.
While acknowledging that such issues are regularly addressed in training, Dramani admitted there is still room for improvement in execution during matches.
The victory strengthens Hearts position near the top of the table, but the coach’s remarks underline his commitment to refining performances as the season approaches its decisive final stretch.
