“It’s Not Over Until It’s Over” – Ernest Okyere Remains Defiant After Medeama Defeat

Assistant coach of Bibiani Gold Stars FC, Ernest Okyere, has expressed optimism despite his side’s defeat to Medeama SC in the Ghana Premier League.

Gold Stars fell 2-0 at the TnA Stadium in their Week 31 clash, with Salim Adams scoring twice to hand Medeama a crucial victory in the title race.

Speaking after the match, Okyere accepted the result but praised his players for their performance, insisting there were positives to take from the game.

“Football is a 90-minute game, and whatever comes out of it you need to accept and learn from it. Nothing went badly. My players proved we have revamped the team, and that impressed me a lot,” he said.

Despite the setback, Okyere remains confident that the title race is still open, with four matches left to play.

“The league is not over. We have four matches to go. They are five points ahead of us. There are 12 points available, so it’s not over until it’s over. We need to go back and make amends to close the gap,” he added.

Gold Stars will now turn their attention to their next fixture against FC Samartex 1996 as they aim to respond and keep their title hopes alive.
