Head coach of Nations FC, Frimpong Manso, says his side are embracing a historic moment after booking a place in the MTN FA Cup final for the first time.
Nations FC secured qualification with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Aduana FC in the semi-final at the Swedru Sports Stadium, with Emmanuel Annor netting the decisive early goal.
Speaking after the match, Manso praised his team’s performance, particularly their defensive discipline, while noting they could have added more goals.
“It feels great to be in this position. Everybody was excited about how the game was played. To be the first team to qualify for the FA Cup final, we are very excited,” he said.
He added that the opportunity to win the club’s first major trophy served as strong motivation for the players.
“The team has never won a trophy, and now they are in the final, so that alone gave them the motivation to go for the win. We were in control, especially defensively, and did not give them space.”
Nations FC will now face either Dreams FC or Medeama SC in the final as they chase a historic triumph in the competition.
