Ghana’s U-17 male team, the Black Starlets, have been drawn in a tricky Group D alongside Senegal, Algeria, and South Africa’s Amajitas.
The Black Starlets are making a return to the competition for the first time since 2017, when coach Paa Kwesi Fabin guided Ghana to a second-place finish, losing the final to Mali.
This year’s tournament will also serve as a qualifier for the FIFA U-17 World Cup, which is scheduled to take place in Saudi Arabia later in the year.
The competition will be hosted in Morocco from May 13 to June 2.
A total of 16 teams will be competing for the 10 available FIFA U-17 World Cup slots allocated to Africa, with Ghana hoping to secure qualification. The team will be led by head coach Dr. Prosper Nartey Ogum.ki
