Joseph Paintsil says the legacy of past greats like David Beckham and Landon Donovan is driving his ambition to succeed at LA Galaxy.
The Ghana forward enjoyed a standout debut campaign in 2024, contributing double-digit goals and helping the club secure the MLS title. He also finished as LA Galaxy’s top scorer in the 2025 season, despite the team enduring a difficult campaign, finishing 26th overall.
This season has presented fresh challenges, with injuries limiting his involvement as the club continues to struggle for consistency.
However, Paintsil remains motivated by the club’s rich history and the calibre of players who have worn the jersey before him.
“This is a big club… it has produced some great players. It needs to motivate you,” he said, emphasizing that joining Galaxy was an opportunity he could not pass up.
As he works his way back from injury, Paintsil is determined to help the team compete for trophies again and cement his place among the club’s all-time greats.
