“We Are Preparing Adequately” – Black Starlets Assistant Coach Nana Kweku Agyemang Ahead of U-17 AFCON Draw

Ghana U17 national team assistant coach Nana Kweku Agyemang has revealed that the team is intensifying preparations for the upcoming U-17 Africa Cup of Nations as they await the group stage draw in Cairo.

Speaking ahead of the draw scheduled for Wednesday at the Confederation of African Football headquarters, Agyemang stressed that the technical team remains focused on readiness rather than potential opponents.

“While we await CAF to conduct the group stage draw, we are preparing adequately for the tournament,” he said.

“All we can do is play within our structure and principles and keep practising both in defence and in attack,” he added.

The draw, set for 16:00 GMT in Cairo, will determine Ghana’s group stage opponents for the tournament, which will be hosted in Morocco.

The Black Starlets are making a return to the continental competition for the first time in eight years after securing qualification through the WAFU B Championship. Under head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum, the team has been in camp since the start of the year, focusing on fitness, tactical discipline, and team chemistry.

With qualification for the FIFA U-17 World Cup at stake, Ghana will be aiming to make a strong impression and build on their proud history in the competition, having won the tournament twice.

Agyemang’s comments underline the team’s determination to be fully prepared, regardless of the opposition they are drawn against.
