RC Lens puts Salis Abdul Samed on transfer market

French side RC Lens are reportedly set to sell Ghanaian midfielder Salis Abdul Samed in the next transfer window due to inconsistent performance in this ongoing season.

The 24 year-old midfielder was bought from Clermont Foot in 2022 for 5 million Euros, Samed initially proved vital for Lens, earning a new one-year contract extension keeping him at the club until June 2028.

Samed was pivotal in Lens runners-up position in Ligue 1 and subsequently earning Champions League qualification, hopes were high for his continued success.

The midfield architect has not met those expectations in the current season. Struggling to maintain consistency since after returning from AFCON 2024 in Ivory Coast, and has since sees fewer games from coach Franck Haise due to injuries and form dip.

Salis Abdul Samed has only started 17 games in Ligue 1 this season and has only started eight games in 2024.
