Ghana defender Alidu Seidu voted as Stade Rennais Player of the Month for September

Black Stars defender Alidu Seidu has won the September Player of the Month award at Stade Rennais.

The versatile defender overcame a tough opponents in Ludovic Blas and Arnaud Kalimuendo to win the coveted award after securing the most votes from fans of the club. He succeeds Amine Gouiri, who won the award in August.

The 24 years defender has been in great shape for the Red and Blacks this season, playing all four matches in the month of September.

Seidu ranks high in terms of blocks made this season, the 3rd Rennes player to have made the most interceptions and he is also among the top 20 Ligue 1 players in terms of ground duels won.

The former Clement Foot defender joined Stade Rennais in January from Clermont Foot and has since been an integral part of the team. Seidu has made six appearances in Ligue 1 this season.

“The supporters placed the Ghanaian international ahead of Ludovic Blas and Arnaud Kalimuendo”.
