In a move aimed at enhancing football development in the Asante Akyem Municipality, the Asante Akyem Municipal Assembly, in collaboration with the management of the Astroturf Committee, handed over an administrative office to the Municipal Football Association for its operations.
The key to the office space at the Astroturf facility was presented to the football association early yesterday by the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Francis Oti Boateng, and the Chairman of the Facility Management Committee, Nana Kwabena Owusu Ansah, a former professional referee.
Both officials expressed their commitment to supporting the growth of football in the municipality, pledging continued assistance to the Asante Akyem Municipal Football Federation.
During the handover ceremony, the Chairman of the Municipal Football Association, Hon. Kwadwo Baah Agyemang, who also serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Ghana Digital Centres, expressed his gratitude to the Assembly for their partnership in promoting football.
He assured that the office space would be used for its intended purpose, serving as a hub for administrative functions that would contribute to unearthing football talents within the municipality. He further emphasized that the association would work to benefit not only Asante Akyem but also Ghana as a whole.
The new office space is expected to streamline the management and operations of the Municipal Football Association, facilitating the coordination of football development activities across the area.
This collaboration highlights a significant step towards nurturing young football talents in the region.
