After a strong debut campaign with Platges de Calvià, young Ghanaian defender Jamal Yusif has expressed satisfaction with his first season in Spanish football and is determined to raise his game in the coming year.
Yusif joined Platges de Calvià last summer from fellow Spanish side Cented FC. Following an impressive season, the promising defender is proud of his progress and eager to build on it.
Speaking to Sokacenta, the versatile 20-year-old shared his joy at achieving a childhood dream and outlined his ambition to continue growing.
“Making my debut in the league is something I dreamt of as a child, so to achieve that was a huge moment for me—one I truly cherish,” Yusif said.
He also spoke about his motivation heading into the new season: “Like every footballer, after two or three weeks off, you start missing it. For me, the drive going into a new season is to always be better than the last. That alone should motivate you to become the best version of yourself.”
Yusif featured in 17 matches for Platges de Calvià last season and contributed four goals, solidifying his place as a reliable presence in the squad.
The Ghanaian defender moved to Spain in 2022 after impressing at Division Two side Golden Kicks FC.
