2025/26 Ghana Premier League to take home GHS2 Million as prize money

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has announced a major boost to the prize money for the winner of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League, raising the amount to GHS2 million. This marks a significant increase from last season’s prize of GHS500,000 won by Bibiani Goldstars.

The new prize package represents a GHS1.5 million increase and is part of the GFA’s broader strategy to make the top-flight league more competitive, attractive, and rewarding for participating clubs.

This development is expected to further motivate teams to perform at their best, with the financial windfall providing a major opportunity for investment in infrastructure, player welfare, and overall club development.

Addressing the 31st Ordinary Congress of the GFA, President Kurt Edwin Siemon-Okraku disclosed that the winner of the league will not only receive a trophy and medals, but an eye-popping GHS2m.

“This is a historic moment for the Ghana Premier League,” the GFA President stated. “Our aim is to ensure that clubs are adequately rewarded for their hard work and that the league continues to grow in stature both locally and internationally.”

The announcement is expected to generate excitement among football fans and club officials, with many seeing it as a turning point that could transform the standard of football in Ghana.
